I wanted to send you all a reminder that tomorrow night begins the first ever offseason training program for the Herriman High Football program. I am excited to get going and look forward to seeing you all there. We will be meeting at Fort Herriman Middle School at 6:30pm in the weightroom - it is important that you are there, READY TO GO at 6:30, not coming in the door at 6:30. We will introduce some of the things that we will be doing in regard to strength, conditioning, and football skill development. Please wear workout clothes - T-shirt, shorts or sweats (no jeans!), and athletic shoes. We will be going until 8:00. Tuesdays sessions will be run by the defensive staff, while Thursdays will be run by the offensive staff (same time and place). You need to be at both. Remember that we are guests at Fort Herriman, and we are also sharing the gym area with Jr. Jazz basketball. Please be respectful of all of those using the building. Bring any friends/acquaintances who have an interest in playing football for Herriman but have not yet filled out an info sheet. See you there!

Let's begin something special, starting tomorrow night!
Last Thursday, the Herriman Football staff, led by Coach Wilson, held a Meet n Greet at Fort Herriman Middle School. The event was kicked off by Principal Steve Park, who welcomed the community and spoke about his vision for the school and the program as well as going in to detail about the reasons why he chose to hire Coach Wilson. The auditorium was packed with an estimated 450 people who were eager to hear about the fantastic program that will be run. Coach Wilson covered many topics in detail, including the off-season and pre-season schedule (which is posted on this blog), expectations, and many other things. The excitement in the air was palpable as the crowd could feel that good things are ahead. Each of the assistant coaches were introduced and spoke for about a minute, and each of them had some great things to say and showed that they have some wonderful things to offer. T-shirts were sold in the hallway and were gobbled up quite fast, and the crowd was treated to a video presentation which showed some of Coach Wilson's past coaching endeavors as a teaser of what all can expect to see from the Herriman Football program. Finally, the coaches spent about an hour meeting with parents and players, answering questions, and getting to know all who were in attendance. The video, which drew raucous applause, can be seen below:
(After pressing the "Play" button, you should immediately pause it and let it load fully before watching, otherwise it gets a bit choppy. Also, keep in mind that the video can be viewed full-screen by clicking the little icon on the bottom right. Offense is shown for the first 5-6 minutes, followed by special teams, and then defense. Enjoy!)
